Legs of mush...

It took a lot of mental peptalking to get myself on the elliptical today.  At 29 minutes, with 1 minute left, my legs started to feel very shaky.  As I finished up I was almost afraid to try and step off the machine, I wasn't sure my legs would hold me up anymore.

I had previously planned to do one set of lower body strength exercises (squats and lunges) afterward.  I wasn't expecting to feel so depleted after the elliptical though and the idea of torturing my legs anymore made my whole body feel like jello.  But I did some more peptalking, ignored my shaking body, and forced myself through 15 reps of 5 exercises.  It wasn't painful, but every time I went down I was not at all convinced I'd make it back up.

I'm pretty sure I will not be able to make it upstairs to take my shower now.  Or, do anything other than sit in this chair for the rest of the day for that matter.  Oooh but hey, this chair's got wheels, I could wheel myself around the house!

So...so far this week I have done 30 mins elliptical plus upper body strength on Monday, 20 minutes elliptical on Tuesday, 30 mins elliptical plus 20 mins upper body strength on Wednesday, and 30 mins elliptical plus one very weak lower body strength workout on Thursday.  I have also tracked my points for breakfast and lunch every day.  Making great progress towards reaching my goals!
